Micromem claims to demo MRAM array for RFID

After conducting what the company called an independent review, consultant Cynthia Kuper claimed MMT (Toronto) has demonstrated the ability to design and fabricate an MRAM memory cell. Micromem's research team plans to develop a 96-bit memory array, which will be aimed at new applications in the RFID market.

MRAM becomes standard product at Freescale

Freescale Semiconductor Inc., the semiconductor company formed from Motorola's Semiconductor Products Sector, has cast its 4Mbit MRAM as a standard product and has been sampling the part to customers, according to the company.

Freescale expects to be in production with standard MRAM products in 2005, the spokesman added.

Trikon Wins U.K. MRAM Technology Grant

British process tool and materials vendor Trikon Technologies Inc. said Tuesday that the U.K. government had awarded it funding to develop Broad Ion Beam Deposition (BIBD) technology for the manufacture of magnetoresistive random access memory (MRAM) on 300mm wafers.
